The funding rate – the proportion of eligible costs that is subsidised – typically ranges from around 10 to 60 per cent, depending on the programme, type of project and company size, and in some cases can even reach up to 80 per cent; small and medium-sized enterprises usually receive higher rates than large companies. Higher rates are also possible for certain research or infrastructure projects, subject to the limits set by EU state aid law. The Funding Team takes these differences into account when selecting programmes and determines which instruments will yield the most cost-effective level of funding for a specific project.
